8 Essentials I’m Bringing on My Flight to Italy

At the end of this month, I’m traveling to Europe for the first time in over six years. Since my last international trip, I’ve dealt with some airplane woes like getting my luggage stolen, forgetting proper headphones for in-flight entertainment, and my phone dying mid-flight — let’s just say I won’t be making these mistakes again.

I’m stocking up on overseas flight essentials at Walmart to make my upcoming travels more enjoyable. Keep scrolling to shop my eight must-haves, including skincare products, tech accessories, and sleep necessities from Patchology, Apple, Neutrogena, and more. Prices start at $4.

Writer-Approved Overseas In-Flight Essentials

Patchology Serve Chilled On Ice Firming Eye Gels

Amazon

Like many, my skin gets extremely dry on planes, so I’m staying prepared with Patchology’s Serve Chilled On Ice Firming Eye Gels for some much-needed self-care. Upon arrival in Italy, I’ll be hopping off the plane and straight into sightseeing, so to ensure I look and feel refreshed, I’ll be applying a pair of these before landing. They feature firming ingredients like peptides, cloudberry oil, and a plant-based retinol alternative to minimize fine lines and dark circles.

Xuduo Power Bank Portable Charger

Amazon

There’s nothing worse than having your source of entertainment (I’m looking at you, smartphone) mid-flight. In case there are no reachable outlets near my seat, I’m bringing this fully-charged portable power bank so I can listen to music for the entire flight. It already has built-in charging cables, so I don’t need to worry about packing them. It has five outputs so I can charge more than one device at a time. It’ll also be useful throughout my trip if I need a quick phone or camera recharge while exploring.

Apple AirTag

Amazon

A few years ago, I had my suitcase stolen from the luggage belt. Since then, I’ve never traveled without an AirTag in each of my bags, including my carry-on and personal items. I’m grabbing a few of these while they’re on sale (and making my family snag some, too) to keep track of all of my belongings on the flight. I’ll also be keeping one in my day-to-day crossbody.  They require a one-tap simple setup on your iPhone and sync up to the ‘Find My’ app for tracking. It’s also both dust and water-resistant.

Twelve South AirFly SE Wireless Adapter

Amazon

The sound quality of my go-to wireless AirPods is unmatched, and the Twelve South AirFly Adapter lets me use my headphones with the in-flight TV. I’ll never travel again without this genius device, which easily plugs into the headphone jack and has up to 20 hours of battery life. If I’m going to be on a flight for over seven hours, I definitely don’t want to struggle to hear the audio of my movie through the irritating crackling quality of the corded headphones the airline provides.
