Tropical Paradise at Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort

I’ve been visiting and living in Vietnam for nearly a decade. Up until this year, I had actually never visited the famous Phu Quoc Island in the south of the country. In general, Vietnam isn’t known as much for its islands, but if you have to choose the country’s best contender to other Southeast Asian islands, it would have to be Phu Quoc!

Personally, I already feel that even the large cities in Vietnam are quite relaxed, but stepping onto the island, you feel a deep sense of calm. Compared to other parts of the country, it is slightly less developed in certain senses, which is great for a holiday as you can be closer to nature.

Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam has tons of options when it comes to accommodation. For this journey, I had the pleasure of staying at Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort. The resort is located about a 45-minute drive north of Phu Quoc airport. We took advantage of the resort’s airport shuttle, which wound through several small towns before reaching the property.

Serene Beach Destination

There is a small village not far from Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort, but once you’re on the property, you feel a large distance away from civilization. This is because the resort itself sits among the trees in a serene natural paradise. Although the property has full-blown forests, it also has well-manicured sections of vegetation. It’s impressive to look at because of how much effort it takes to maintain them. The grounds of the resort boast more butterflies than I think I’ve seen anywhere else in my entire life. I assume this is thanks to the large quantity of flowers.

As the resort is spread out across the forest and beach, even when there are many guests, things feel calm and relaxed. On days with higher occupancy, we still barely ran into people while walking around the property. Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort is truly a paradise on earth.

Luxury Villa in Phu Quoc

During the week-long stay at the resort, I was staying in an Ocean Pool Villa. The villa not only sat in the jungle, but also offered breathtaking views of the ocean below. The villa was well-equipped with all the amenities needed for the perfect, relaxing luxury beach getaway in Vietnam.

The amenities included super comfortable bedding, a large daybed, a working desk and chair, tea and coffee facilities, a mini bar, ample storage space, a large bathroom with a dual sink vanity, an outdoor shower, an indoor shower, an outdoor bathtub, and of course, a stunning infinity pool with an ocean view.

Honestly, five days here was not long enough. I loved every second of this beautiful stay!

Green Bay Restaurant Phu Quoc

Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort offers multiple food and beverage outlets. However, as we visited during the low season, only the main Green Bay restaurant was open for customers. This is the resort’s all-day dining restaurant for all three meals, plus a complimentary afternoon tea and coffee. I felt that the breakfast buffet was ample for everyone’s taste buds, even my partner’s, who is normally vegetarian. The food was tasty and fresh, combined with friendly and attentive service.

This great service continued during lunch and dinner. During our stay at Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort, a special half-board menu was available, though we noticed it was a bit more limited than the resort’s standard menu. That being said, the food was still tasty and enjoyable, and we didn’t tire of it throughout the week. In the evening, the beautiful restaurant transforms into a more romantic and intimate setting.

Resort Activities and Facilities

Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort impressed me with its large variety of activities and facilities. While some resorts try to nickel and dime you for every additional activity, Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort offered many complementary options. For example, the resort provides access to a tennis court, kayaks, two large public pools, a volleyball court, a fitness room, a basketball hoop, body boards, paddle boards, and more. Being in this beautiful tropical paradise, we also got a lot of exercise just walking around and enjoying it.

Wellness Spa Experience in Phu Quoc

During our stay, we had the chance to experience the Green Bay Resort Spa. It’s a delightful venue with treatment rooms offering the option for both indoor and outdoor treatments. We opted for the 60-minute Swedish massage. From the moment we entered the spa until it was time to leave, we were treated with the utmost care. Additionally, the therapists were experts at their craft, and we felt calm and relaxed after the massage. We also had the opportunity to use their dry sauna, which was the cherry on top to such a lovely afternoon.

Conclusion

All in all, the experience at Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort was delightful. I absolutely fell in love with the natural surroundings at the resort. I’d like to commend the staff in all positions for their great work. The only thing I’d really like them to change is their use of plastic bottles. All in all, it was five days of absolute tropical paradise, which I would happily experience again. Therefore, if you find yourself in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, I highly recommend staying at Green Bay Phu Quoc Resort!
